    1. Dark Bathrooms

With the rising trend of neutrals, it created a commotion of excitement when we heard that black bathrooms are becoming more popular. With the classic and clean black finish complimented with light shades of grey or warm cream tones, we can understand the rising popularity.

The use of black within the bathroom can create a contemporary feel, adding a tone of moodiness to the room and making it feel cosy. When complimented with neutral tones the black will pop and become an accent to the bathroom aesthetic.

Would you dare to darken your bathroom with a modern black touch?

If you are considering it, but not ready for a completely black bathroom why not consider a black marble finish, adding some lighter touches in the marble. At Versital we offer black marble vanity tops and jet black shower trays for the risk takers.

  2. Sleep & Eat – The Seasonal Inspiration Exposition

    London’s Exclusive Interior Design Exhibition

To get inspiration for the coming year our team went down to London for the incredible exhibition of world’s best interior designers, suppliers and manufacturers – Sleep and Eat.

Sleep and Eat event is targeted at the whole commercial and domestic interior design industry. It offers an incredible array of displays and exhibitions aiming not only to showcase products, but also coming trends and concepts. For us at Versital it offered a great opportunity to meet many of our clients, associates and to celebrate the industry we work in. We kept our eyes open, and scanned for current and upcoming trends to provide our customers with the most up to date products.

    Sleep and Eat Event

    Marble is a Major Trend

One of the most striking findings at the Sleep and Eat exhibition was how popular marble is becoming. It has moved way past the bathroom and shower panels, and is introduced into more and more in spaces like bedrooms and living rooms. Many interior designers used it to compliment soft colours and furnishings to create a calming, modern designs that have a really soothing ambience.

Marble seems to also be a hit in the hospitality sector, with many people specifying it for bar and table tops. As we spoke to many of the designers and specifiers, they said that they often turn to marble alternatives (out of which many chose Versital) in order to accomplish the same visual result but increase the lifespan. We were also very proud to find that Knightsbridge Furniture had a stand featuring one of our marble finish table tops in ‘Perlato’. The table top was matched with interesting modern base and surrounded by navy blue carpets and an interesting, contemporary furniture that created a really nice result.

Many designers seem to also move away from the classic white marble and towards more strong and striking colours like blue, green or mustard. Because of that, right after our team brought in the inspirational pictures from the show, our engineers begun to experiment with our colour palette to cater to that new, growing trend.bathroom freestanding sink at sleep and eat

    Rich Blue is Taking Over

As if everyone had pre-arranged it, many stands featured deep midnight blue as their key colour. Those that did not feature blue, normally opted for deep shades of green or soft grey. Strong colours interestingly complimented the softer, and rounder silhouettes and textures of many items.

The whole show featured an incredible amount of curved lines, featured mainly on very popular top mounted basins, sofas, chairs and table tops. To contrast the soft lines of the fixtures many designers used geometric or heavy printed wall paper, or decorative elements like vases and bowls that worked together very well.

    Metal is Slowly Creeping In

Although it was not as pronounced as the blue – metal elements seem to have risen high in the world of interior design. Many stands featured furniture which was embellished with metal accents of rose and plain gold.

The designers matched it with either deep colours like brown, burgundy or midnight blue or with a soft wood and off-white porcelain and ceramics. It is very clear that metal accents are on the rise and many trend report suggest that in couple of years they will play a major role for designers and customers alike.

    Back to Nature

Alongside the recently rising sustainability trend generally visible in retail, interior design sees a rise of natural greenery and plants. Many exhibitions proudly featured flowers or green walls that seamlessly blended with the striking colours and soft shapes.

Many designers contrasted greenery with metal accents polished to a mirror finish.  As a company deeply committed to sustainable development, our team marvelled at some of the set-up rooms created by England’s most renowned designers. Furthermore we saw that many of the greenery stands involved marble elements, creating a really striking effect.

With attention to detail and planning, a luxury bathroom can be created in any home. Luxury bathrooms are all about creating a space where you can relax at the end of a stressful day, as well as get ready with ease on busy weekday mornings.

    Luxury Bathroom Ideas

    Bathroom Furniture

Bathroom furniture in wood or white gloss finishes has a timeless appeal. Bespoke solutions make the best use of available space. Or you can choose off the shelf solutions from the likes of ‘Mereway’ bathrooms.

    Bathroom Fittings

For the ideal showering solution opt for a shower system that includes a large fixed shower head, with a refreshing rainfall style effect, as well as a shower handset for easier rinsing and cleaning.

Walk in showers are ideal for creating a sleek bathroom. For a neat, minimal finish install a shower tray in the same finish as the floor. Versital offer bespoke shower trays and floor slabs in matching finishes to the shower trays.

Luxurious materials are essential. It’s definitely worth investing in materials such as stone and solid wood to add a smart, sophisticated look. Choose solid surfaces such as Versital for the look of marble and stone, but that are 100% waterproof and require no treating.

Key Design Points for a Successful Luxury Bathroom

    • Invest in luxury materials that will stand the test of time.
    • If you have the space, install a separate bath and shower enclosure
    • Prioritise comfort and functionality.
    • Research and decide on the look you want. Look at our website and even hotel websites, as bathrooms in boutique hotels are a great source of inspiration.

    Expert Opinions

Are luxury bathrooms really worth the effort? These two experts to share their thoughts.

    The Interior Designer

A couple of years ago people were happy with a standard clean-lined bathroom with a nice feature wall. Now the request for more luxurious fittings and fixtures, as well as luxury materials has never been greater. More people realise the bathroom isn’t just a functional room, it’s a space to unwind and ease the tensions of the day.

    The Estate Agent

Bathrooms definitely help sell houses. A bathroom with a spa or hotel feel gives homes the wow-factor and help them stand out from the crowd.
Buyers are put off by old bathrooms as they don’t want the hassle, fuss and expense of having to redo a bathroom once they move in. A high end bathroom leads viewers to believe that the rest of the house will be to the same standard too.
