  2. Four Eye-Catching Design Trends For Hospitality Venues

If you’re redesigning the communal spaces in a restaurant, hotel or the like, then you’ll need to be up to date with the latest design trends for hospitality venues. Working the latest trends into your designs will not only wow your clients, but will also ensure that the visitors are asking about the people that put the interiors together. Thankfully, we’ve got a handle on all the latest trends so that you don’t have to.

    Maximalism

Big and bold design is back in a big way. Subtle colours and hide-behind walls have been abandoned across the hospitality industry, and we’ve seen a marked rise in the demand for highly detailed, eye-catching designs. Take Feya, who combined Gold Stratos marble with busy walls and archways to create intrigue and interest across every wall of the bar and restaurant – even combining built structures with real foliage for maximum impact.

    Biophilic Design

After what is now nearly two years where we’ve seen more of our own walls than anything else, we’ve seen a real return of designs inspired by flowers and nature. At The Ivy, in Manchester, geometric flowers across the furniture are coupled with walls featuring all manner of birds, all united with a distinct Asian style which reflects the cuisine available. Biophilic design has always been popular, but it would be foolish not to note the return of this design trend for hospitality venues.

    Marble

At Versital, we know all about marble, and we were delighted to provide the marble used to decorate the most luxurious nail salon in the world, the townhouse at Harrods. The townhouse is decked out in Autumn Onyx, which features burnt orange veins running through cream marble, and was completely custom supplied by Versital.

    Harrods Town House Nail Salon

Equally stunning is the Busy Carrata marble designed for The Red Lion in Oxford, which helped us – in collaboration with JMDA and BOBO1325 – to transform a country pub into a modern, sleek bar. The marble was also perfectly suitable for the washrooms, as it is durable & easy to clean, as well as being protected by SteriTouch anti-bacterial technology.

    Intricate & Edge Details

With the return of maximalism, it will be no surprise to you that intricate edges are another one of the returning design trends for hospitality this year. In times where design has favoured minimal looks, edges are often left bland-  but they are a superb opportunity to add flourishes and flair. Darley’s in Derby did just that, and they took advantage of the custom cut that Versital is able to offer to achieve stunning edges across their vanity tops. Quite simply, there are no barriers to creativity when you work with Versital.

  3. Stunning Marble Tops: Blossom & Wild

At Versital, we are passionate about marble tops. We think everything looks better finished in cultured marble – and, by the looks of it, so do the team at Blossom and Wild.

Situated in the Hertfordshire haven of Berkhamsted, Blossom and Wild is a beautiful coffee shop which sits on a picturesque high street where both footfall and competition are high. Standing out with a dazzling interior is absolutely crucial, and Blossom and Wild have certainly raised the bar.

    Creating a Dream

Madison, the owner of the ambitious coffee shop, said “I have always had a passion for baking & all things pretty so combined the two to create my dream, which I hoped other people would also feel excited about! I wanted to create an ethereal place to eat beautiful cakes and delicious afternoon teas and to indulge with friends and family in a unique environment from the usual! The metallic marble from Versital was the perfect fit to create my dream décor.”

    Aspirational Venue

Blossom and Wild is more than just a coffee shop – they also host events offering a popular Afternoon Tea which caters to a huge variety of dietary requirements. It is an aspirational venue in which visitors can spend an entire afternoon.

This decor adds to the grandeur of the venue without overpowering the bright, inviting walls.

    Metallic Marble Copper Stratos

For an added touch of glamour, Madison chose the exclusive finish Copper Stratos from the Metallic Marble range. These finishes have the beauty of a realistic marble pattern with an extra element of metallic sparkle in the veining. This finish was the perfect option to complement the rest of the venue’s decor.

Marble Tops with Added Protection from SteriTouch

Not only are the marble tops beautiful to look at, but they are also protected by SteriTouch anti-microbial technology. As the cafe looks to open up to even more customers in the post-regulation world, this gives peace of mind to both staff and customers.

Gemma Stockberger, Director of Versital UK, commented “There is nothing we love more than seeing Versital marble tops as part of a beautiful setting. Madison’s passion and enthusiasm were clear from the get-go! We loved helping create her vision, and how she has combined beautiful lighting, paper and of course our tops for a really opulent feeling venue.

Versital is often used in large projects and rollouts, but there is something very special about working with independent clients like Madison”.

Finalist in the Muddy Stilettos Awards

We are not the only ones who think this is a show-stopping and award-worthy venue. They are also in the finals for the best coffee shop in Herts and Beds for the Muddy Stilettos awards for their beautiful venue and mouth-watering menu.

Any coffee shop looking to offer the indulgent experience that Blossom and Wild have perfected could take inspiration from the attention to detail paid by Madison & the team, and it is this understanding about how the environment impacts the customer experience that will carry the independent boutique far.

Easy to clean and gorgeous to look at, the marble tops in Blossom and Wild fulfil every possible design need. Take a look at the full range of marble tops offered by Versital, or contact us directly at sales@versital.co.uk or 01204 380780.

    Feya – Flagship Knightsbridge

The ever popular London Café Feya has branched out with the launch of its flag ship venue in the heart of the fashionable shopping district of Knightsbridge. Introducing an Insta-worthy interior to its customers.

The brief: to create an escape rooted in fantasy and nature.

    Insta-worthy Interiors

Feya approached FromRoom to create a design like no other. FromRoom have a reputation for creating the highest quality Hospitality projects with flair. It was especially important to create those ‘Insta–worthy’ moments for visitors that have become so important in hospitality.

    Brand Development

    FormRoom’s MD, David Roberts says

“Feya as a brand is very fantastical in their direction.

Their vision is one rooted in mythology and escapism, so that lends itself naturally to a maximalist approach to feature design.

Feya has a very loyal brand following who see it as a retreat from reality. So we looked to create a narrative for the space, so that as you move through it you’re taken on a very literal journey of discovery.

The product itself is highly visually innovative and the space reflects this attention to creativity and detail. It should feel playful and fun, an indulgence and a celebration.”

    Versital and FormRoom

Having worked with FormRoom before, Versital were approached to offer advice and supply custom surfaces to fit the brief of nature vs the fantastical.

“FormRoom have a reputation for fabulous designs and we were delighted when we were approached and our exclusive ‘Metallic Marble’ was specified for the main feature marble counter area and table tops. Being cast, were able to shape the reception front to a curve. The table tops match the rest of the deign and bring the whole scheme together”

    Café Design

At the entrance is a striking bespoke counter created using Versital Metallic Marble in Gold Stratos, complete with etched gold sections.

Versital worked in conjunction with specialist shop fitter Dawnvale who project managed and installed the entire project.

“We have worked with Dawnvale on numerous projects and it is always a pleasure to know you are working with experts. We worked together to ensure the materials worked with the design and their joinery, delivered to order and on time to meet with their strict schedules.

With Dawnvale we were able to fulfil the vision that FormRoom had created.”

Carl Oliver – Production Manager Versital

    Strict deadlines

The project had a total of six weeks from design, project management and final hand over which Versital was able to deliver within.

    Custom designs

The feel of ethereal and other worldliness continues throughout the café, with abstract references to water, Lilly pad sections created with tables and cushions and even wall details to appear like a forest.

Being a fully bespoke made to order product, Versital was manufactured to suit the clients specifications precisely.

    Oversized Bird cages

Towards the rear of the café, striking oversized birdcages create a centre piece amongst the forest canopy. The metallic marble tables from Versital complement this feature area perfectly, providing the perfect photo opportunity for visitors.

Water proof and stain proof marble

As well as offering a unique bespoke look of natural marble with a metallic twist, Versital surfaces are also fully waterproof and stain proof.

“Although design is key to a fantastic hospitality venue, we are also conscious of providing clients with a product that will be practical and look great long after installation.

Versital surfaces are able to deliver on both of these important considerations – they look beautiful and unique, but are also easy to clean and won’t stain with use”
